ANDSF capable enough to safeguard territorial integrity

The Trump administration has ordered the military to start withdrawing roughly 7,000 troops from Afghanistan in the coming months, two defense officials said Thursday.
US President Trump made the decision to pull the troops — about half the number the United States has in Afghanistan now — at the same time he decided to pull American forces out of Syria.
The announcement came hours after Jim Mattis, the US secretary of defense, said that he would resign from his position at the end of February after disagreeing with the president over his approach to policy in the Middle East.
But, the pullout of US troops training and advising local forces would have no adverse effect on the security situation in Afghanistan, presidential spokesman said on Friday. He also recalled, analysts feared the country would slide into anarchy in the wake of 100,000 foreign soldiers’ departure, but the concerns were proved wrong by the valiant Afghan forces with their sacrifices.
The Afghan security personnel, who had been in the frontline in the war on terror since 2014, had since been safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity and protecting the citizen, the spokesman maintained. “The Afghans have been in charge of their security over the past four years. Our ultimate goal is that Afghan forces should stand on their own feet in defending their motherland and nation in a permanent manner,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, NATO in a reaction of possible US withdrawing from Afghanistan says, the Afghan army and police have been fully in charge of the security of Afghanistan for over four years.
“Afghan forces are a brave, committed and increasingly capable force, which have ensured the security of the parliamentary elections earlier this year.” NATO spokeswoman added.
Since beginning of the spring season, Taliban insurgents have once again continued their bloodshed and violence campaign against the Afghan people and security forces. The militants spared no efforts to disturb the peaceful life of the Afghan masses and used civilians as their shields as well as their houses as their shelters while fighting the brave Afghan forces.
But the Afghan National Defense and Security forces (ANDSF) could repulse the terrorists’ attacks and killed and arrested hundreds of the insurgents, while trying their best not to harm civilians in the area. In the past seventeen years, ANDSF have developed into a collection of professional institutions that are both committed to their mission and highly respected.
The heroic counter terrorism struggles of security and defense forces and cracking down the insurgents leave no place for any concern. In spite of complications of war in Afghanistan and open and secret supports from terrorists in the region, the Afghan security forces have been passing a dangerous year but let not the enemies of the country to achieve their ominous goal in the country.
Therefore, Afghans are confident over the country’s security forces capabilities gained during the last several years and their patriotism, and they don’t worry about the foreign forces’ withdrawal, but are thankful for their sacrifices and praising their role in training and advising of the Afghan forces.
