President Ghani, VP Dostum discuss security, peace process

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with First Vice President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum in his office yesterday, a presidential press office said, adding the meeting took place after series of the sessions held with different segments of the society for establishment of an advisory board for peace in the country.
Thanking Gen. Dostum’s view on peace, President Ghani said consultative meetings held with political parties, civil society activists and other political and Jihadi figures, adding peace was a national process and it was needed to have views on all segments of the society. During the meeting, both sides also discussed security situation in a number of the provinces, the statement concluded.
