Afghan MMA fighter Hotak wounded in gun, knife attack in Kabul

The Afghan Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Ahmad Wali Hotak has been wounded in gun and knife attack involving unidentified individuals in capital Kabul.
Sources close to Mr. Hotak confirmed the incident took place late on Sunday night in Hussain Khel village in Bagrami district of Kabul.
The sources further added that the gunmen initially opened fire on Mr. Hotak, brought him out of his car and stabbed him after hitting him punches.
The relatives of Mr. Hotak are saying that he is still undergoing treatment in Emergency Hospital in Kabul and the doctors have said that his health condition is satisfactory.
No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident. This comes as Hotak had recently returned from the United States after completing his five-month training and was supposed to leave for Russia on Monday to appear in a fight against his Russian rival.
