NSA Atmar thanks US, NATO support of Afghan forces

KABUL: National Security Advisor (NSA) Mohammad Hanif Atmar met Resolute Support Mission Commander Gen. John Nicholson here in his office yesterday, a statement from NSA press office said.

On behalf of Afghan people and government, NSA Atmar praised RS mission, in particular Gen. Nicholson’s  cooperation for preparation to NATO heads of state meeting.

He also thanked US and NATO member states for their financial support of the Afghan forces till 2024. NSA Atmar also emphasized on Resolute Support Mission’s cooperation and coordination with Afghan forces during air and ground operations.

Both sides also discussed security of the upcoming parliamentary and district council elections, the statement added.

Meanwhile Mohammad Hanif Atmar assured of government’s sincere efforts for implementation of the commitments made during NATO head of states meeting in Brussels.
