FM Rabbani meets Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan

KABUL: Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Salahuddin Rabbani met Chinese ambassador to Kabul yesterday in his office, Bakhtar News Agency (BNA) reported.

The Chinese ambassador, Liu Jinsong while describing the new policy of China called peace in Afghanistan important for the region and the world as a whole, and the progress made in the talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan is a good step towards reaching to durable peace.

The Chinese ambassador also emphasized on the commitment made by his country to cooperate with Afghanistan in all areas, according to the agency.

China is a neighbor and a very good friend of Afghanistan, and we want closer bilateral and regional cooperation with it, Minister Rabbani stated.

In the meeting, both sides discussed political, economic, security, cultural, elections, peace process, Afghanistan and Pakistan action plan for peace and solidarity.

At the end of the meeting the Chinese ambassador reported about his country’s economic assistance and cooperation to develop Afghanistan’s economy at the local level.
