Local officials instructed to do more for security in some insecure provinces

KABUL: The National Security Council (NSC), with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the chair has held meeting at The Gul Khana Palace, discussing some security issues, The Presidential Press Office said in a statement the other day.

The meeting, at the outset, assessed security in Farah, Ghazni, Faryab, Badakhshan, Baghlan, Kunduz, Badghis and Sar-e-Pul provinces, where the president instructed the local officials to tighten security and take practical plan for rebuffing the enemy’s threats, said the statement.

The NSC, also urged the security officials for having defense preparation during the ceasefire times, according to the statement adding those security troops and personnel played key role in the arrest of two suicide bombers in the Kabul City, have been appreciated.
