Afghans welcome women recruitment in Kabul Municipality
Recently, a number of women have been hired for cleanliness by the Kabul Municipality and Habitat agency—an action has been warmly welcomed by the countrymen.
Head of Kabul municipality publications, Abdul Jalil Sultani told The Kabul Times that we hire those women who are keen to work alongside their brothers.
He added, fortunately, in many cases, the women have proved they are more effective than men and the Kabul municipality is satisfied with their work.
“Now, the women have been hired in 1st and 4th PDs in the capital Kabul,” he further said.
Kabul Municipality has recently hired about 170 female cleaners and plans to hire more in near future, he added.
The female workers recruited by Kabul Municipality for cleaning would get paid by the government and those have been hired by Habitat organization would get paid by the agency.
Sultani further went on to say that the budget which has been allocated for Kabul municipality is not sufficient and lack of workers and citizens’ cooperation are the main challenge ahead of this organization.
The Kabul municipality is going to hire more than 2000 workers, 500 of whom would be females.
Khurrami the in charge of Habitat agency said that the entity was hiring poor women in cleaning section whom salaries would be paid by USAID. The Habitat organization has provided a bank account for each worker and their salaries might directly be transferred to their accounts, he further said.
170 female workers have so far been hired in nine areas of Kabul city and recruitment process is ongoing for other six areas, he added.
Seddiqa, a female worker said that we were a family of six and my husband is a soldier in one of the provinces.
I am happy from this organization that provides job opportunity for us. Our main problem is that we work from morning till evening and there is no bathroom for workers, so we want the Habitat organization and Kabul municipality to provide the facility for us.
Ghuncha Gul, 45, another worker, said about International Women Day: “It is good that women have a day. But in Afghanistan, the day is celebrated just for the heck of it. If there is a real will to give women their rights, the municipality should raise our salaries and provide us lunch.”
This is while that the Kabul municipality has about 4,650 employees while Kabul city is home to an estimated six million people. Karima Malikzada

As for photographs, make sure there’s proper lighting and use a consistent background for photos. Flight Club’s Instagram feed is a good example. They use simple, clear backgrounds to accentuate the details of sneakers
