NSC calls for fight against all terrorist factions in region
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has slapped sanctions on Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan splinter group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA), in a move welcomed by Pakistan, which has already banned the group in November 2016.
Welcoming the step, the government of Afghanistan is stressing that the terrorists’ supporting countries must be pressured to succeed in uprooting terrorists’ activities.
On the government of Afghanistan’s reaction, the spokesperson to the National Security Council (NSC) told The Kabul Times that the world has realized the government’s righteousness. There are many terrorists’ hideouts operational beyond the Afghan borders and JuA is one of them in the region, he further said.
Pointing at Pakistan’s policy before Afghanistan, he said, “Pakistan has always promised to honestly cooperate in fighting terrorism, but unfortunately, it has not done anything in action so far.”
Rejecting the allegations on terrorists groups’ activities such as Haqqani and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, he said the terrorist factions are not operational inside but beyond the country’s borders.
“Afghanistan has always been a victim of terrorism and still the fight is ongoing,” he added.
He stressed that currently our detective and intelligence organs are making effort to foil any terror act, adding we support the international community steps particularly Afghanistan’s war on terror.
Qadir Shah added “I expect the government of Afghanistan to seriously fight against all terrorist factions in the region.”
Likewise, the international community particularly the US and NATO should support and equip the Afghan National Security Forces so they overcome the terrorism.
Recently, the government of Afghanistan delivered a list of 88 terrorist groups operational in Pakistan so it seriously steps up in the respect, he went on to say. There are many evidences that the terrorist groups are being trained in Pakistan and sent to Afghanistan to conduct subversive activities, he continued.  The terrorist groups are being trained and brainwashed in Pakistan’s tribal areas and they also have sanctuaries in Peshawar, Islamabad and Karachi, he stressed.    “We expect the government of Pakistan to honestly cooperate with the government of Afghanistan in fighting terrorism, because terrorism not only threatens this country but also the region and the entire world countries,” Qadir Shah added.  He also added that if the international community particularly the US continue supporting the Afghan security forces, they would certainly succeed to remove terrorism not only in Afghanistan but in the region as well.
