KABUL: Prof. Mohammad Rasoul Bawari, the acting minister of information and culture, on Tuesday opened a women handicraft exhibition “Our Crafts, Our Identity” at the National Gallery, BNA reported. The exhibition, in which, many handicrafts, traditional foods and women’s jewelries and needle works have been displayed, was attended by a number of the ministry’s authorities and craftswomen, was held by the financial support of the Promote Institution at the National Gallery, aiming at empowerment of women, said the agency quoted Madina Astana, the organizer of the exhibition.  She  said women were practically able to produce handicrafts but can’t organize such exhibitions and the main aim of the exhibition was to help women empower and produce more handicrafts as well as to show that they have the capability of leadership.
While inaugurating the ceremony, Prof. Bawari said three steps could help women develop; first education, second environment for their capacity-building and the third spiritual momentums and self-reliance.  “ The slogan “Our Craft, Our Identity” indicates that you have found the capability to call your products, your identity,” said the acting minister adding the slogan can help women rely on their own.
