At the outset, congratulating Eid-ul-Adha to all participants, the president asked the country’s civil administrations to always protect and support the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF), the statement added.
Thanking the Afghan security forces for their efforts during Eid days, the president said the security forces were not with their families during Eid days, thus, they need further supports and protections.
Afterward, the second vice president, Sarwar Danesh said the draft was consisted of analyzing the status quo, within which the problems and obstacles were also reviewed and some measures which will be done in this regard have also been specified.
Five key priorities have been considered in the strategy which are including, sound leadership, firm will in the government leadership including transparency in policies, reforms in security sector, transparency in recruitment process being done by the civil services and administrative reforms commission and to punish those involved in corruption as well as sound financial management, he added.
Chief justice and head of Supreme Court, Sayed Yousuf Halim said the strategy was comprehensive and the implementing organizations should further work on it.
The attorney general, Farid Hamidi said if the draft was practiced, we would be able to effectively fight against corruption.
Minister of finance, Eklil Hakimi said fighting corruption was part of our commitments, adding every administration should arrange a practical plan based on which responsibilities are arranged.
Calling the step important, UN, EU special representatives and British ambassador declared their support in the plan’s implementation.
After hearing the suggestions and talks, the president said we have promised to the people of Afghanistan and our international partners that practical action is needed to fight corruption.
The president stressed that our laws need a review, to know are they effective in fighting corruption or not. It is merit to mention that Afghanistan’s national strategy on fighting corruption is expected to be finalized within the next two weeks.
