NATO committed to continue long-term military cooperation to Afghanistan

KABU: Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met with NATO joint forces commandment commander in Netherlands Gen. Riccardo Marchio at the Sapidar Palace, his office said in a statement the other day.
CE Abdullah while welcoming Gen. Marchio to Afghanistan thanked active presence of NATO in fighting terrorism and strengthening the country’s armed forces, the statement further said.
Expressing satisfaction on Afghan security forces development and growth, Gen. Marchio assured of NATO forces long-term support from the country’s armed forces.
He added NATO would spare no effort to strengthen Afghan security forces capacities and to provide assistances to those fighting in frontline against insurgency.
Both sides also discussed recent military changes in the country, effective ways to fight insurgency and regional as well as world cooperation to uproot terrorism.
