Senior security officials assure of Ghazni stability

KABUL: Defense and Interior ministers in a press briefing assured of the country’s security and defense forces control over Ghazni city, which recently witnessed heavy attacks from the Taliban militants, Bakhtar News Agency reported Monday.
Referring to its website, the agency said around 194 militants have been killed and more than 147 others wounded, during the offensives, the agency said.
Interior minister also confirmed the death of 100 soldiers, but said 50 commandos have tactically retreated to the adjacent districts of the province and up to 1000 fresh troops have been dispatched to suppress enemy in the province, according to the agency.
Both defense and interior ministers assured of positive changes in the next 24 hours in the province, as they assured the city was under the security and defense forces control, the agency said.
Chief of army staff and senior security deputy of the ministry of interior would lead military operations against the enemy in the provincial security and defense headquarter, said the agency.
