President Ghani hails outgoing Turkmen ambassador’s mission in Afghanistan

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani held farewell meeting with outgoing Turkmenistan Ambassador to Kabul here yesterday, a presidential statement said.
Praising ambassador Togalakov Hemra Amanmammedovich’s works and efforts for bolstering the bilateral ties, President Ghani said that foundation of 100 years of cooperation was laid down between the two countries during his mission in Kabul, the statement added.
Hinting at Turkmen president’s crucial role in implementation of the trans-regional projects, President Ghani said establishment of development corridor, Lapis route and implementation of regional connectivity projects to have positive impact on both countries and even that of the region.
“Afghanistan is ready to transmit energy from Central Asia to Pakistan and South Asia,” the president said, emphasizing on sustainable relations between the two neighboring countries. Meanwhile Turkmen ambassador praised President Ghani’s efforts for implementation of the regional projects and expanding the bilateral ties between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. He also called the current ties between the two countries as unprecedented, the statement said. At the end, president Ghani asked outgoing ambassador to pass Afghan nation’s greetings to the people and president of Turkmenistan, the statement further read. The Kabul Times
